I believe in the empowerment of my patients to maintain their health. I feel that without your best possible health, most of the rest of life’s issues quickly become secondary. As a doctor I am reminded daily of how important health is to every aspect of our lives. Most of us are healthy, and for this reason take our well-being for granted. All of us, however, have been temporarily afflicted with things as simple as the common cold. When we get a cold we quickly are reminded of how all that energy, productivity, and happiness we are blessed with every day can be taken away from us.
I personally evaluate and treat all my patients. I am proud to be part of the medical profession and the MD degree. I believe in providing the best possible care for each patient. From ordering the proper diagnostic tests, to matching you with appropriate specialists, in my office, you get the personal care you deserve.
Being trained in the field of Internal Medicine, I am aware that there are many aspects to maintaining our health. Particularly, I feel that Nutrition is vital to a healthy body. All new patients are screened for common nutritional deficiencies and I will recommend specific Supplements in certain deficiency conditions. This approach is part of being a holistic healthcare provider. I fervently believe in the old saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. Seeing your doctor periodically to assess your present level of wellness and potential risk for future disease is an important investment for yourself. I believe the decision to make that investment is a personal one and I am excited to participate in that choice.
In today’s discussions about healthcare models one term that frequently comes up is the idea of a medical home. I am pleased to point out that I have been providing this model for years, having already recognized this as a most efficient method of delivering care to people. A medical home should be as vertically integrated as possible. What that means is that as much of your care should be delivered in one geographic/physical place as possible. In a typical office practice, patients are forced to go to the emergency room to evaluate an acute complaint because the office can’t provide a timely appointment. By offering a Direct Primary Care membership model, my office is different. This program provides peace of mind, unprecedented services and care at affordable and predictable prices that you can budget for- no insurance needed for this office!
I understand that emergency rooms should be used for true emergencies only and recognize urgent problems need urgent appointments. Having multiple ways to access my office and me is the most cost-effective primary care model there is. If you are an established patient in my practice, you know you can call the office and arrange an appointment. You can be confident that we are available by phone 24/7. You can also know that if you have an urgent problem or concern, I have geared my daily schedule and limited my patient base so that you can be seen the same day for evaluation. I employ a licensed, experienced nurse (LPN) who can triage your problems so that you are appropriately scheduled.
Understanding the value of personal medical attention, my group was the first in the community to use Electronic Medical Records (EMR). We did this because they knew it would enhance patient care. Now the EMR has advanced to the point that I can access your medical record from home or even from vacation destination if you need me too. Furthering the medical home model, our practice has the tools onsite to run your blood work, vascular and ultrasound diagnostics, bone density testing and sophisticated radiology imaging services all at the same office location. If you are sick you can know that with confidence you can get your complete workup in our office and the doctors who know your case the best can assist you in an efficient, cost effective and caring manner to evaluate and treat your ailment. My office staff have a high satisfaction and retention rate because they know our practice model is the best system for taking care of people.
I am also passionate that the patient/physician relationship be maintained. I am convinced that this is crucial to the health and satisfaction of my patients. This is the primary reason I have been on record repeatedly advocating for price transparency, more patient engagement and choices and less health insurance and government.
